Timeo Voice - November 2025 The Paradox of Productivity Rebooted
| |
Dear Guest,
The Paradox of Productivity… Rebooted. How AI stole our time, and what to do about it
We will start with a fact: December is around the corner. You look at the calendar, then at your to-do list, and suddenly wonder:
"How is the year nearly over… and how come I feel like I’ve achieved only half of what I intended?.. Less?”. You are not alone. In fact, a client recently asked us to run a special webinar series to ‘raise energy, motivation, and impact before the year ends’. Because that feeling that we’ve been busy but not effective, productive but not fulfilled is becoming universal.
Fast forward to 2025.
We have swapped SAP training rooms for Slack pings and TEAMS fatigue.
And two years ago, almost day-to-day, we welcomed a new team member into our lives: AI — always on, incredibly powerful, sometimes overwhelming (I nicknamed mine ‘Muse’ on the good days and ‘Big S..’ on the bad ones). We are living in an age of augmented productivity… but also accelerated burnout.
We can do more, faster. We struggle to define what actually matters, and when we’re done.
So what’s going on? We're working in hyperconnected environments with blurred boundaries
We’re drowning in micro-decisions and digital noise
We’ve lost sight of the difference between activity and impact
... We’ve forgotten (again) how to say “No”
And we’re all secretly hoping that someone, or something (ChatGPT? Mistral (gagnant)?..), will help us take back control.
Spoiler alert: it starts with us. Here’s how to finish the year stronger (and saner) - Reclaim your focus. Not everything urgent is important. Pick 2 things each day that really move the needle. Do them first.
- Say “No” (or “Not now”) more often. If everything is a priority, nothing is. Your calendar is not a battleground—it’s a strategy.
- Use AI wisely. AI can save time. But it can also become your favorite distraction. Use it to streamline, not scatter.
- Check in with your energy, not just your agenda. A well-rested brain makes better decisions. Productivity isn’t about squeezing more hours—it’s about better output per unit of energy.
- Invest in yourself. As the saying goes: “We don’t know what we don’t know.”
And that’s where development comes in.
At Timeo, we have designed coaching and training experiences exactly for this reality. From managing energy, priorities and focus, to leading remote teams, to decision-making under pressure—our programmes are here to help you regain clarity, confidence, and impact… and our take from one of our favourite ‘gurus’ in efficiency just below.
Let’s talk. It is not too late to achieve more… by doing less, better.
Let's be good together™.
PS: If you remember the Miss Alien story from the original article - yes, I still think about her. And I think she would be both impressed and overwhelmed by what we call productivity today.
